Mike Mason
President & CEO

Mr. Mason began working in the construction industry more than thirty five years ago, beginning in the trades as a carpenter. He joined one of Western PA's oldest professional design firms (Larsen and Ludwig) as a construction project manager in 1980 while working on a degree in civil/structural engineering. Mr. Mason became a partner and President of Larsen and Ludwig in 1987.

Under Mr. Mason's leadership the firm experienced consistent and profitable growth while becoming known for its expertise in technology environments. In addition to his regular duties, in 1998 Mr. Mason was elected as the Managing Partner of the Atlantic Service Alliance—a professional partnership of 13 Architectural and Engineering firms that consisted of more than 650 design professionals. In 2004 Mr. Mason was successful in negotiating the purchase of CMI, a small merit shop contractor based in Western Pennsylvania.

After 20 years of successful practice, in January of 2007 Mr. Mason left his position with the engineering company to become the majority shareholder and CEO of Construction Management Innovation, Inc.  As the former President of one of Pittsburgh's most respected professional design consultants and the experience of personally managing more than $1 billion in construction during his career, Mr. Mason offers clients an insight offered by very few others. Because of his unique experience, he has become very well known for his abilities, particularly during the preconstruction phase.

Mr. Mason is a Certified Construction Specifier and is a member in the Construction Management Association of America and the Construction Specifications Institute.  He is also a member of the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA).
"For over 20 years CMI has pledged to provide our clients with the utmost care and support while getting projects completed on time, safely and within budget. We are proud to continue with that tradition."
