CMI General Contractors (1987-2004)
Founded in 1987 by Bruce C. Peters, CMI was formed with the assistance and support of Donald C. Peters who served as President and Chairman of Mellon Stuart Company for over thirty years.

Construction Management Innovation, Inc. (2004-current)
In September of 2004, CMI General Contractors was purchased by the current majority shareholder, Michael G. Mason, and his partners of the engineering firm LLI Technologies to provide stronger design-build delivery for many of its technology and communications-based clients.  The company name was changed to LLI/CMI Construction, Inc.

In January of 2007, Michael G. Mason, legally separated from LLI.  In January 2009, the company’s name was changed to Construction Management Innovation, Inc. (CMI).

CMI is today among the fastest growing in Western Pennsylvania and has expanded its sphere of operations throughout the United States while carrying on a tradition of providing excellent service, top-notch construction professionals, and a commitment to quality for our clients. CMI is a process-driven merit-shop general contractor that utilizes a “best practices” approach embracing safety, quality cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

While continuing to provide traditional general construction services, CMI specializes in collaborative design-build project delivery for clients in the scientific, telecommunications, education, and healthcare industries.
